Popsicle bookmark

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for a new challenge at The Paper Shelter challenge blog and this time the theme is "Bookmark It".

I used this cute pre-colored Ice Cream Time image. I got inspiration from my favorite popsicle (strawberry and orange flavoured).

Unfortunately my printer broke in the printing process so the image has some extra lines and I had to draw new eyes for her, but well.. that's life.

Anyways, here is my cute and delicious popsicle bookmark 😊

I used this fun The Mouse Whisperer image and coloured it with alcohol markers. I wanted the card to look like cheese so I used an embossing folder and some ink to create the background. Say cheese text is cut with an electronic cutting machine.

Stay strong

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for a new challenge at The Paper Shelter challenge blog and this time the theme is "Anything goes" with the optional twist "For the Ladies".

I used a Squats image and coloured it with alcohol markers. Then I die cut it (down part - the upper part I fussy cut) and added a little bigger die cut circle under it.

The background paper is from Punk Lolly paper pack and I added a little Distress inks and black Sharpie on its edges before taping it to the card base. The letters are die cut and I heat embossed the "strong" letters with glittery black embossing powder.

I was quite lost at some point with this card, but I think it turned out great. There's a bit of masculinity and femininity and even though it looks quite simple I used multiple techniques on it.

Here you can see the glittery embossing powder little better.

Products used:
  • The Paper Shelter - Squats image and Punk Lolly papers

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for a new challenge at The Paper Shelter challenge blog and this time the theme is "Anything goes" with the optional twist "Food/drink".

I used this cute Sharing is Caring image and coloured it with alcohol markers.

The patterned background I made with stencil, red ink and clear embossing powder on white cardstock. The heart frame also has the same pattern but there I used white embossing powder on red cardstock. Lastly I taped everything together (mostly) with foam tape and added a red ribbon and bow.

With Love

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for a new challenge at The Paper Shelter challenge blog and this time the theme is "With love".

I used this new(ish) image Would You Be My Valentine? and coloured her with alcohol markers.

The background has quite a lot of things 😊 First I made a few layers with Fabrika Decoru Magic paint spray and water. Then I added some stamping. Unfortunately I did black stamping to the center of the card but I didn't like it so I stamped again over it with red ink and heat embossed it with red embossing powder - and it was so much better. There are still some black spots but that's ok.

Then I die cut some hearts (added glossy accents on them) and clouds (added some colour on them). I glued them on the card and lastly added the image with foam tape.

Steampunk(ish) birthday card

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for a new challenge at The Paper Shelter challenge blog and this time the theme is "Make your own background".

I used this cute Steampunk Girl image and coloured her with alcohol markers. I used the colours from the background I had done earlier.

To create the background I taped aluminium tape over a cardstock and then embossed it. I added some acrylic paint and Distress Oxide and scratched the coat a little bit so that aluminium tape is also visible in some spots. Lastly I coated the whole background with some wax to protect the paints and inks.

The sentiment is also die cut from aluminium tape coated cardstock, then painted with acrylic paint and Distress Oxide.

Tribute to Veronica

Hi everyone!

This week and next, rather than running our usual Blog Hop, the Design Team at The Paper Shelter is honouring our beautiful co-founder Veronica, who tragically left us on the 25th of September 2024.

Veronica was a kind, supportive, beautiful soul, who alongside her co-founder Pedro, produced the images we all know and love to create with.

There is a vacuum in the world today, where Veronica used to be, and we will miss her terribly.

*** *** ***

So, as a tribute to Veronica, the challenge theme this time is "In honour of those we love".

On my card I used Cozy Christmas Together image and coloured it with alcohol markers. I added some patterned paper and a frame but kept the card otherwise quite simple. There is a lot of glitter on the frame, the edges of the card and patterned paper and also some on the girl's hat (doesn't show on the picture unfortunately).

I used this beautiful Giselle image and coloured her with alcohol markers. I wanted to play with a few different striped papers so I die cut them to different sizes and taped them on the cardbase with a foam tape.

I also added a die cut wreath, few flowers and a sentiment. Lastly I finished the card with a couple buttons and Glossy Accents drops here and there.

Blue birthday card

Happy Wednesday!

It's time for a new challenge at The Paper Shelter challenge blog and this time the theme is "Make it sparkle".

I used the image Cozy Cuddle and coloured it with alcohol markers. I also added some shine to the dress with a Wink of Stella glitter brush pen (unfortunately it doesn't show in the pic).

I coloured the background paper with Distress Ink and then used a stencil and blue glitter paste to create the hearts. I also added some glitter to the flowers.

So there is a lot of sparkle in this card even though it doesn't show very well on these pics 😊
